Charm City Animal Rescue Fundraiser

Parkside Pub in Canton is hosting a super fun event on Saturday, March 5, to raise funds for Charm City Animal Rescue!

The event, which goes from 4-8, will feature a silent auction, raffles, a money wheel, drink specials, free food, and more! DJ King Gilbert will be spinning your favorite 60's soul and Motown hits. Plus, 20% of the bar proceeds will benefit CCAR!

Silent auction items and prizes include: A custom built Orioles guitar, framed and autographed Ed Reed photo, $150 in Home Depot gift cards, an acupuncture session, baskets of hair and skin care products, baskets of cheer, $100 gift certificate to Have Fun Be Lucky tattoo shop, autographed "Life with Maxie" book by Diane Rehm, plus SO much more!

Baltimore 500: Racing to Save Lives

It is the perfect time to adopt a cat or kitten from a local shelter here in Baltimore. It’s a very busy time at our animal rescue facilities around town and they are all racing to adopt 500 kitties by the end of the month. During June adoption fees are completely waived at any of the organizations affiliated with The Baltimore Animal Welfare Alliance.

The participating shelters include The Maryland SPCA, The Humane Society of Baltimore County, BARCS, Baltimore City Animal Control, & Baltimore County Animal Control Division.

Another Kind of Green

Shopping locally does much more for our community than save the fossil fuels it takes to ship products produced in another country to the United States and then truck them from one cost to the other and back again. It keeps money in our neighborhoods.


It's pretty well known that local businesses tend to be good at giving back to the community by donating merchandise, profits and time to local charities. Already, in just one month, members of BEST have raised $476.70 for the animals at the Maryland SPCA. We've been super busy asking our friends and family for donations and giving percentages of our sales. There is still time for you to help, too!

March, and er, well April for the Animals

Some of our animal-loving members will be marching for the animals this April 2oth in beautiful Druid Hill Park. To help meet the team's fundraising goals, some members will be donating proceeds from their etsy shops to the cause. It's always a fun day, so join our pack or help us out by donating.
