A titillating fundraiser!

Above "Do-It-Yourself Cut and Pasties" By Open Eyes Press

Feather, glitter, tassels and much, much more! Hold on to your hats because BEST has just announced it’s first annual BEST for BREAST fundraiser.

In the months leading up to Breast Cancer Awareness Month (October), BEST team members will create handmade pasties using the medium of their choice. The pasties will be up for sale on the BEST for Breasts Etsy site in mid to late September in time to kick off Breast Cancer Awareness month. With over 40 active members, including some who have survived breast cancer, BEST team members will use ceramic, fabric, feathers, metal and other materials to craft the pasties.

All proceeds collected from the BEST for Breasts sale will be donated to the Red Devils, a Maryland organization that funds services to improve the quality of life for breast cancer patients and their families.

To view more of these titillating crafts visit the BEST for Breast Flickr site at www.flickr.com/photos/best4breasts/

For more information on BEST for Breast contact Kolleen or Jill @ best4breast(at)gmail.com.

Favorite Shops: Handmade Pretties

It's time to patch things up....with Lara Newsom's Handmade Pretties. Hailing from Iowa, Lara creates some of the most colorful, fun skirts I've seen in a while!

3-6 month Pastel Sweater Skirt

And her patchwork sweater balls are great too. Made from recycled sweaters, these goodies are not only great for the environment, they're also great for the soul!

Favorite Shop: Mogwaii

Sara Campbell, the genius behind the Etsy shop Mogwaii, creates the most stunning pieces with pure wool. Her pillows, French Press cozies, and creatures all have simple and elegant compositions that are often nature inspired. There is also something about her work that somehow seems pure. This all comes to us from a rugged island in north west Scotland. Isn't it great how Etsy can make talent so far away so accessible?
