Let's Go Out: Beach Weekend

It's summertime, and I'm snatching as many free weekends as I can to run off to Maryland's amazing beaches! Let's stock up on Etsy for that next trip!

I always find myself carrying a bunch of things beachside - books, sunscreen, towels, you name it. So I'll need a bag to tote it all, and why not this beautiful one from Tannei Casey

I admit that most of my beach weekend time is spent in a swimsuit and flip-flops, but sometimes we go out for a nice dinner at an oceanside restaurant. I'd love to wear this sweet dress by Beatrice and the Bird

You can't go out in a dress like that without the perfect earrings, and I'm smitten by these seaglass ones from Ocean Mist Studio.  By the way, did you know that Maryland's own Eastern Shore is one of the best places to collect sea glass in the country?  I sense another weekend trip coming on!

See you at the beach!

Let's Go Out for a Mad Men Picnic

I am a huge Mad Men fan! There is one shocking scene in the first or second season, where the Draper family all go out in their new Cadillac for a picnic. They dawn all of the early 60's regalia: the blanket, the picnic basket, Betty's summer dress, the six pack of pull tab beer. The shocking part was when they lifted their picnic blanket and left all of their trash on the ground,
topped with Don throwing his last beer can out into the lake!

Thankfully the ecology movement of the 60's happened and that poor crying Indian commercial! Here are some lovely items I found on etsy for that Mad Men, yet eco friendly picnic:

Let's Go Out: Date Night!

The weather is finally warming up and I'm ready to take my reluctant hubby out on a fabulous date night! What to wear?

No other choice than this gorgeous Coming Up Roses dress from Ureshii.

I'll accessorize with my favorite go-to glitter earrings from BEST's own Jersey Girl Design! I wear these all the time and they transition perfectly from daytime to nighttime.

And finally, how about a new necklace from Jill Popowich? My style exactly - and made by one of our own!

Let's Go Out.....for Christmas Eve

I grew up in the midwest where it's below zero this time of year. While I'd quietly prefer to stay home, cozy in my pjs with a hot toddy, every Christmas Eve my family gets all bundled up and makes a frigid journey to the candlelight church service.
This lovely cowl by GrayDesigns will help keep me warm.

...as will these fun handwarmers by HelenGrayDesigns.

And when we return home from church, we always have a feast of hors d'oeuvres and toddies! I'll bundle up in this hand crocheted throw by Fringe as we track Santa's location on Norad.

Let's Go Out...To the Wild Woods of West Virginia!

My husband and I have planned our last summer escape to the family cabin in the mountains of West Virgina. Being the savvy girl scout that I am, I will be prepared to bring some gear, both practical and fun.
I'll be toasty warm next to the campfire with this Swanky Flower Boxes Quilt by QuiltPetaler.
Every camper knows to start the day with a hearty breakfast like this ceramic bacon strip by BEST's, Found Studio.

Let’s Go Out: Swing Dancing!

My husband recently suggested that we take up Monday night swing dancing at Charm City Swing. They offer a dance lesson for beginners like us prior to an open swing dance session every Monday night. We’re looking forward to our first class – and in the meantime, I’m putting the perfect outfit together!
This retro blouse from Jitterbuggin will set the mood right away.
There can be no more perfect accessory than a flower in your hair – and this sweet anemone from Blooming Vintage is not only beautiful, but tested for durability on swing dancers!

These simple, lovely earrings from BEST’s own Jill Popowich are the perfect finishing touch – organic and unique, and sitting snugly in the ears for those active dance moves!
And don’t forget the comfortable shoes!

Let's Go Out....To the Beach!

Sand, sun, surf, frisbee, coconut-y sunscreen, frosty drinks....who doesn't look forward to a day at the beach? As a California girl at heart I certainly dream of the beach all year, especially when the snow is coming down here in B'more. This is what I want to wear!

Let's Go Out: Farmer's Market

It's that time of year, warm weather brings people out to the local farmer's markets to purchase fresh and locally grown produce, flowers, and well pretty much anything!

Don't forget to take your reusable bags with you! This tote from Happy Family has the farmer's market feel!

St. Patrick's Day - Let's Go Out!

It's bloody freezing in Baltimore. I mean seriously, ridiculously cold, the kind of cold where you start thinking 40 degrees is 'warm'. That won't stop yours truly from going out for St. Patrick's Day, but it does mean I will be wearing long underwear, jeans and boots with a good tread.
Not much fun, huh? Nothing glamorous, you say? Well I say 'Nay-Nay!' there's always something gorgeous to wear when you shop the Etsy way!
For cold weather, when you're prone to wandering the streets, watching the drunkards fondle the Fells Point mermaid, it's all about that top layer.

Over my sensible jeans and boots might come a glorious wool trench like this one from VeriteVintage:
Look at the size of the pockets on that beauty! Enough room to hold cell phone, keys and a couple of protein bars so March 18th won't feel so bad.

Now for some colour, this not too chunky scarf from GreenCouch:
Soft, warm and not a giant cowl that I might spill my drink into - perfect.

And finally (because with my hat and gloves there's no where else to add colour!) lovely little enamel earrings from StacyHatfield:
Why yes, tiny spring leaves are just a heartbeat away!

Let's Go Out...in the SNOW!

A good snow day requires good, warm and cozy gear. No one should venture outside without a sturdy scarf, like this one from WarmMeUp. The thick wool and cowl shape will be sure to keep those cold breezes from getting to your neck!Keeping your hands warm will be a cinch with these adorable mittens from JillLauren.
And a stylish hat from BtrFlyMom will keep your head toasty, and you looking fabulous as the snowflakes fall!
Just don't forget to have plenty of hot cocoa on hand for when the fun is over, and you need to defrost! This gourmet mix from EricaBStudios should hit the spot!
Happy Winter- here's to no more shoveling!
