Valentines Day - Handmade

With Valentine's Day coming up quick, many people are searching for unique handmade projects.

Last year, my son and I had fun with a homemade card idea we saw online. It was so super easy and turned out really cute.

We took a photo of my son with his arm out, hand in a 'fist'. Printed on cardstock, added text, cut in squares, punched holes, added a lollipop, an voila'.

This is a really sweet project (I think I may make for myself!) that can be left up year round, it's that pretty.

Another great handmade decoration are these LOVE blocks.

The sentiment is great, but combining it with photos of you and your loved ones......*swoon*. I'm a goner! If this causes your heart to skip a beat, head over to Stories by Me for the details.

I know that we don't all have time to craft some wicked cool Valentines day cards or decorations. I get it, I do. So if you fall into that category - check out the Valentine related items from our BEST members.

I Pity the Fool Who Doesn't View this Post!

Listen sucker, Valentine's Day is less than a week away! So download this card by Kolleen from Design by Night and give it to your loved one—it will definitely put you on the A-Team with your honey.

Click here to download a pdf of this card.

The card should be printed at 100% on letter sized (8.5 x 11) paper. Trim the card using the crop marks and fold in half. The final size is 4.25" x 5.5". The sample was printed on red card stock to give it a little more XOXO. The cards will fit in a standard A2 (4-3/8" x 5-3/4"), however if you do not have an envelope handy you can refer to this tuturial for Recycled Paper Envelopes to create one.

Valentine's Day: Engagement Rings on Etsy

It's that time of year - the season for romance! And if you're at the stage in your romance where you might be looking for a ring for that special someone, I can think of no better place to get it than Etsy. A handmade engagement or wedding ring is unique, eye catching, and always a conversation-starter. It demonstrates that you've put thought and love into the selection of your ring and picked out one that really, really represents the one you love. And - bonus - often, a handmade ring is a much more economical and environmentally friendly choice than one from a traditional jewelry store.

My now-husband and I bought these engagement rings from Etsy seller robandlean in 2008, and love them. Both titanium, with a conflict-free tension set black diamond for me and an ebony wood inset band for him. We got so many compliments on our rings (and yes - boys can wear engagement rings, too!) throughout our engagement!
