One of my favorite places in the darling borough of Hampden, the Hon capital of Baltimore, is Red Tree. This two- story shop is filled with wonders for your home, and for yourself. Their flavor is organic and modern, an aesthetic carried through in furniture, decorative accessories, lighting, books, jewelry, bags, apparel, and original art. They feature a mixture of work that is handmade locally and items from their own line. Foodies will appreciate the playful barware, linens, aprons, and serving pieces. I love the original art and craft items.
Need a special gift for a friend? Snag a pair of silver earrings by Elisa Shere, a hilarious book, some handmade soap by Biggs and Featherbelle, a collection of mustaches, a beautiful bird-themed print by Val Lucas, a luminous glass suncatcher by Jim Loewer, or a futuristic graphic tee shirt by Spaghetti Kiss. Want something super cute for the little one in your life? Find Sweet Pepita’s adorable upcycled apparel for kids. Don’t forget the card- grab a sweetly romantic one from Sugar Paperie. If you are bored with the sameness of big business chains, this unique shop will be a breath of fresh air. Support a terrific local business, and visit Red Tree!
