The Thriftstore Mystery Paintings

If you are at all involved in the Baltimore Art scene, you’ve probably heard "Blaster" Al Ackerman read from one of several of his books at the 14Kt Cabaret. He is a master of finding hilarity in the mundane, and a most amazing storyteller.

So when you look at his works in acrylic, you shouldn’t be surprised to experience, once again, a compilation of tales, both beautiful and Baltimore-extraordinary. The Thriftstore Mystery Paintings is a collection of painted album covers with titles equally as interesting as the works themselves. Of course they would be.

Opening reception is Sunday, July 13, from 4 to 6 p.m. Gallery hours are 8:30 a.m. to 5:30 p.m. Monday to Friday and Saturdays from 8:30 a.m. to 2:30 p.m. Free admission. For more information, call 410-532-5582 or log onto www.ndm.edu/gormleygallery
